About Sapporo
Sapporo began in Hokkaido in 1876, with German-trained brewmaster Seibei Nakagawa helping to establish the brewery. Its first lager went on sale in 1877, made using the low-temperature fermentation and maturation methods he had learned in Germany. Sapporo reached North America in 1964.
