Delta Vineyard 2005 Marlborough Pinot Noir

Dark in colour, this Pinot Noir offers black cherry, vanilla and orange peel, with subtle herb, spice and beet notes. The palate is dry and balanced, ending with a long, silky finish. The fruit comes from Marlborough. The grapes were picked by hand, fermentation used both oak and tank, and maturation lasted eight months. The vineyard lies on heavy clay soils.

About Delta Vineyard
Delta Vineyard began in 2000, when three friends with long experience in New Zealand wine created a Marlborough project around Pinot Noir. They chose an elevated site in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys, with dense clay soils, cool nights and steady air movement. Pinot Noir remains a focus, with plantings of Dijon clones.
