About Llagares Valverán
José Masaveu began developing Llagares Valverán in 1998 as a family ice-cider project in Asturias. Its orchards in Sariego hold more than 20,000 trees, growing eleven native Asturian apple varieties.
After harvest, the apples are frozen under controlled conditions to around −20°C before pressing to concentrate the juice. The concentrated juice ferments for roughly ten months, then spends another eight months on its lees. Each 375 mL bottle requires at least twenty apples.
