Sweet agave and vanilla lead the aroma. Cooked agave anchors the palate, with oak developing through the middle after three months of rest in American barrels. The agave character remains at the centre as vanilla and oak come together around it. A dry finish closes the profile, carrying cooked agave, vanilla and a measured trace of American oak.

About El Tequileño
El Tequileño began in 1959, when Don Jorge Salles Cuervo founded his own label in Tequila and named it for the spirit's birthplace. His son Juan Antonio joined in 1970, followed in 2005 by grandson Jorge Antonio “Tony” Salles, who assumed management and master-distiller duties in 2008.
The distillery uses Blue Weber agave from Los Altos de Jalisco and spring water from Volcán de Tequila. Agave is cooked under pressure, then milled; the juice ferments in open concrete vats before distillation in copper pot stills. The distillery turns 98 per cent of its organic production waste into compost for fertilizer.
