Domaine Gérard Raphet 2021 Les Grands Champs Bourgogne Rouge
$84.99
Autumn leaves, cinnamon, cloves and red berries accompany pomegranate, blood orange and red cherry. Pinot Noir comes from vines more than forty years old rooted in red clay and silt. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeast in tank. Maturation lasts eighteen months in older French oak, and the wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

About Domaine Gérard Raphet
The Raphet family's domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis dates to the 1920s. Gérard succeeded his father Jean during the early 2000s, and Marion, his daughter, now shares responsibilities across vineyard and cellar. About 12 hectares across the Côte de Nuits form a patchwork that runs from village appellations through premier crus to grand crus.
Many of the domaine's small parcels contain vines more than a century old. Harvest is manual; indigenous yeasts carry the fermentations in tank, and the wines spend roughly 18 months chiefly in seasoned French oak before going to bottle unfined and unfiltered.
