About Domaine Baron de l’Écluse
Domaine Baron de l’Écluse is a family estate on the south-eastern slopes of Mont Brouilly, between Odenas and Saint-Lager in Beaujolais. Its current holdings cover about 17 hectares across Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Morgon, with Gamay central to the vineyard. Winemaker Jean-François Pegaz returned to the family property after working in Australia, New Zealand and Chile and succeeded his uncle in 2015.
He reunited two family properties and began making separate wines from individual vineyard plots. Blue schist marks the Côte de Brouilly slopes, while pink granite is found around Mont Brouilly.
