Blackcurrant, blackberry and red cherry form the aromatic core, joined by cedar, toast and a subtle mineral edge. The palate begins fresh, then broadens into ample, well-defined tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon provides length and structure, while Merlot and Petit Verdot round the middle. Nutmeg and red fruit return on the persistent, composed finish.

About Château Carbonnieux
Château Carbonnieux stands on a gravel rise at Léognan, with an estate history extending across nearly eight centuries. The Perrin family acquired it in 1956 and has carried its restoration and direction through four generations. Its unusual distinction is shared by both sides of the cellar: Carbonnieux is a Graves classified growth for red as well as white wine.
The vineyard is divided into 119 mapped plots across Günzian gravel, sand, silt and clay, allowing each grape variety to be matched to the ground that suits it. Work in the vines includes no-herbicide soil cultivation, natural fertilizers, biodiversity measures and close parcel-by-parcel monitoring. In the cellar, gentle extraction shapes the reds, while careful blending preserves the balance and freshness that define this historic Pessac-Léognan estate.
