Heathery smoke and earthy peat lead the aroma, softened by barley sweetness, caramel and quiet oak. The palate is fuller and warmer, bringing toasted cereal, black pepper and wood smoke over a smooth malt core. Hints of green apple and vanilla keep the peat from feeling heavy. The finish is medium-long, dry and gently ashy. Serve neat or with a little water beside smoked almonds or hard cheese.
