Nismes-Delclou Armagnac 1991
French Brandy
Floral aromatics open gradually, joined by sweet spice, caramel and a gentle nuttiness. The palate is velvety and composed, with mature fruit held in balance by polished oak and a savoury undertone. Distillation on the lees and long maturation in local Gascon black oak give the spirit both texture and quiet complexity. The finish is measured and warming, carrying spice, caramel and dried fruit. Serve neat in a tulip-shaped glass and allow it time to open.
Chateau Leoville Las Cases 1991 Saint-Julien
French Red
Mature and finely composed, with cassis, pencil lead and damp earth rising from the glass. A trace of burning ember adds warmth without obscuring the fruit. The palate is concentrated yet harmonious, bringing cigar box and dark berries through integrated tannins. The finish is dry and measured, with cedar, mineral and blackcurrant lingering in a distinctly classical, savoury frame.
Quinta do Noval 1991 Nacional Vintage Port
Portuguese Fortified
Sweet raisin and fragrant perfume open over deep, nearly opaque colour, with strawberry, molasses and blackberry building in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is concentrated and structured, combining powerful tannins with fine balance and a distinctive balsamic note. Youthful energy carries through the firm, lingering finish.
