Dr John Lagan established Xanadu in Margaret River in 1977, planting Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon among the first vines. The winery now draws on several estate sites and long-standing grower relationships within Margaret River. Its vineyards include Gingin Chardonnay and Houghton Cabernet Sauvignon, two clones closely associated with the region. Whole-bunch pressing, wild fermentation, lees stirring and French oak are used selectively, according to the wine.

Lemon, white peach and stone fruit lead, with fresh herbs, beeswax and a subtle lanolin note adding savoury detail. The palate is bright and dry, bringing crisp acidity together with a gently rounded texture. Citrus and orchard fruit carry into a clean, restrained finish, making this food-friendly Margaret River blend well suited to roast chicken, grilled fish or vegetable fried rice.
