Charred fruitcake and flamed orange peel open the nose, followed by cassia, cocoa and baking spice. The palate is dense and savoury, combining honeyed cured-meat notes, oily walnut and aged marmalade with sweet sherried fruit and tangy cranberry. Ten years in first-fill sherry casks gives the whisky substantial weight, while its cask-strength presentation preserves a robust, meaty malt character. The finish is long, earthy and warmly spiced. Serve neat and add water gradually.
