AboutWinery Zodi
Nino and Giga grew up with household winemaking in Upper Imereti, western Georgia, and founded Winery Zodi to revive local grapes and village wine traditions. Kvishkhuri, Dzelshavi and Tsolikouri are at the heart of the range. They use qvevri in the cellar, varying skin contact and ageing times from wine to wine.
Winery Zodi 2020 Kvishkhuri Amber
Georgian White
Honey and field flowers mark the aromas of this full-skin-contact amber wine. Kvishkhuri comes from sixty-year-old vines in a one-hectare vineyard. Skin contact lasts one month, and the wine ages for twenty months in qvevri. The producer works in Imereti in western Georgia, using minimal-intervention methods that add or remove nothing beyond a small sulphur addition before bottling. The estate seeks to preserve forgotten local grape varieties.
