AboutWilson Foreigner

Wilson Foreigner is a California winemaking partnership between Napa’s David and Christine Wilson and South Africa’s Chris and Suzaan Alheit. David and Chris met during the 2005 harvest in South Africa, and their first wines together followed in 2015.

The Wilson family’s Rancho Chimiles, northeast of Napa, is central to the project. Virginia and Terry Wilson planted ten acres of Valdiguié there in 1972, when it was widely known as Napa Gamay, and the family still farms the ranch.

American Red
$64.99
Red cherry, raspberry and cassis lead, with allspice, black pepper, bramble and dried herbs adding savoury detail. Pair with barbecued ribs, roast pork, grilled sausages or smoky beans.

Wilson Foreigner 2017 Rancho Chimiles Valdiguié Napa Valley

American Red
$69.99
Cranberry and tart cherry lead, lifted by white pepper and freshly cut tarragon, sage and rosemary. Concrete and neutral oak keep the fruit direct while adding gentle texture rather than overt wood. Bright natural acidity gives the palate a lively, thirst-quenching shape and carries the savoury herbs into a crisp finish.
