AboutVite Colte

Vite Colte brings together 180 growers farming 300 hectares in Piedmont, with a winery at the foot of Barolo in the Langhe. Growers are paid by the area they tend, rather than by the quantity of grapes they deliver.

They work with the winery’s agronomists to manage yields, tend the vine canopy by hand and choose harvest dates for ripe fruit. All grapes are hand-picked, and part of the vineyard area is certified organic or being converted to organic farming.

Vite Colte 2024 San Nicolao Barbera d’Asti

Italian Red
$33.99

Intense ruby colour carries violet reflections. Blueberry, violet, cherry and liquorice appear in a dry Barbera, with a soft texture and lively acidity. Maceration lasts about ten days at 25–28°C. Malolactic fermentation follows alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, and maturation also takes place in steel. The grapes come from traditionally managed, low-yield vineyards in Piedmont.
