Five generations of family winegrowing lie behind Vinha Paz, based at Quinta da Leira near Viseu in the Dão. António Canto Moniz released the first Vinha Paz wine in 2002, naming it in honour of his mother. His son Henrique now manages the estate.
The family still makes wine in its ancestral cellar, using the old granite vats alongside modern equipment.

Portuguese White
Encruzado makes up sixty percent of the blend, with thirty percent Malvasia and ten percent Gouveio. Orange blossom, white-fleshed fruit, soft lime and delicate floral notes shape the aroma. The palate is balanced and well structured, combining softness with firm acidity, defined body, fresh minerality and a long finish. The grapes were hand harvested from granite soils.
