Viña Don Melchor

Viña Don Melchor’s history begins with the Bordeaux vines that Don Melchor Concha y Toro planted at Pirque, at the foot of the Andes, in 1883. In 1984, Émile Peynaud saw the potential of Puente Alto Cabernet Sauvignon and encouraged Jacques Boissenot to help develop a wine from the site. The first Don Melchor vintage followed in 1987.

Enrique Tirado has been its winemaker since 1997. Fruit from the vineyard’s different parcels is blended each year, rather than following a fixed recipe.
