AboutVaudon
Vaudon’s Cognac history reaches back to 1771, when Francois Gaborit passed vineyards at Merignac to Pierre Nalbert. Anne-Marie and Pierre Vaudon now carry on the family estate in Fins Bois.
Ugni Blanc from Fins Bois provides the base for its Cognacs, which are matured in selected oak and blended. Alongside its Cognacs, the estate also makes Pineau des Charentes.
Vaudon VS Cognac
Fresh pear and apricot lead the aroma, joined by vanilla and a light berry brightness. The palate opens supple and delicate, then gains gentle weight as clean white-fruit flavours develop through the middle. A slight liquorice note brings contrast without disturbing the spirit’s balance. The finish is smooth and softly warming, returning to pear, vanilla and restrained fruit sweetness.
Vaudon Fins Bois Double Cask 10 Year Old Cognac
Apricot and cooked banana lead with vanilla, white fruit and a lightly creamy note. The palate is rounded and composed, balancing ripe orchard fruit with toasted coconut and a gentle caramelised edge. Oak adds warmth without obscuring the fruit. The finish is smooth and measured, leaving vanilla, baked apple and a quiet touch of spice.
Vaudon 1996 Cognac
Ripe plum and cherry lead a powerful yet elegant aroma, with sandalwood giving the fruit a calm, seasoned frame. The palate is broad and composed, moving into rose petal, orange peel and spicy wood. Floral lift keeps the mature character from feeling heavy. The finish is deep and persistent, leaving citrus oil, polished oak and a final echo of dark fruit.
Vaudon Extra Cognac
Sweet spice and cinnamon lead the nose, joined by walnut and beeswax with a mature rancio character. The palate is ample and enveloping, carrying the greater strength with poise before a long, structured finish of nuts and liquorice. Rich without becoming heavy, it is well suited to slow sipping after dinner. Serve neat, alongside dark chocolate or coffee if desired.
Vaudon Fine Rare Fins Bois Cognac
Jasmine and banana open with a gentle floral lift and fresh pear. The palate is soft and silky, carrying delicate fruit through a clean, pure texture. Ginger and anise add a cool spicy edge without disturbing the balance. The finish is long and graceful, leaving pear, flowers and a lightly refreshing note of spice and poise.
Vaudon Pineau des Charentes Blanc
Golden amber in the glass, with a rich, rounded bouquet of dried fig, vine blossom and vanilla. Floral notes, honeyed sweetness and almond shape the smooth palate, while a gentle freshness keeps the finish balanced and composed. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, with fruit-based desserts or alongside blue cheese.
Vaudon XO Cognac
Violet and subtle fruit lead a delicate, composed aroma, followed by mango, walnut and candied orange peel. The palate is soft and silky, with exotic fruit bringing brightness while gentle oak and nutty depth add structure. Richness remains polished rather than heavy. The finish is long and elegant, carrying floral tones, orange oil, walnut and quiet warming spice.
Vaudon VSOP Cognac
Toffee, honey and salted caramel open with ripe plum and fig. The palate is smooth and delicately rounded, moving from candied fruit into white fruit and soft floral tones. Limousin oak contributes measured depth without masking the fruit. The finish is gentle and harmonious, leaving caramel, dried fruit, blossom and a quiet trace of warming spice.
