Valentina Passalacqua’s Calcarius project comes from Gargano in Puglia, where white limestone breaks through the vineyard soils. The wines draw on local and southern Italian grape varieties, with still and sparkling styles in the range. The one-litre Nù Litr wines and the bottle-refermented Frecciabomb sparkling wines are two of its distinctive expressions.

Cloudy amber-gold with a lively, gentle fizz. Ripe pineapple and lemon zest lead, followed by wildflower honey and a faint Mediterranean-herb note. The palate balances a lightly grippy skin-contact texture with bright acidity, keeping the fruit energetic and dry. Serve well chilled with burrata, fried seafood, spicy dishes or a generous plate of antipasti.
