AboutUnsworth Vineyards
Tim and Colleen Turyk founded Unsworth Vineyards in 2009 after buying a small vineyard and an early twentieth-century farmhouse in the Cowichan Valley. They named it for Tim’s mother, Marjorie, whose maiden name was Unsworth.
The Mill Bay winery works in Vancouver Island’s cool maritime climate, with a long, moderate growing season influenced by the Salish Sea. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lead the range, alongside other whites, rosé and Charme de l’Île sparkling wines.
Unsworth Vineyards 2022 Pinot Noir
Red fruit, violets and baking spice lead into cherry, wild berries and a quiet forest-floor note. Fifteen months in French oak gives the Pinot Noir a supple frame, while bright acidity and velvety tannins keep the palate poised. It is a natural match for roast chicken, salmon, mushrooms or gently seasoned pork.
Unsworth Vineyards 2023 Rosé
Made entirely from Pinot Noir, this dry rosé opens with strawberry and raspberry before moving toward cranberry and a savoury edge of rhubarb. Stainless-steel fermentation and maturation preserve its bright fruit and clean shape. Serve chilled with salmon, prawns, summer vegetables or a simple charcuterie plate.
