AboutTunella

The Zorzettig family’s Tunella estate in Friuli-Venezia Giulia takes its name from an old farmhouse and nearby hill. Livio Zorzettig began developing the estate in the 1960s; the family adopted the Tunella name in 2002, and Massimo and Marco now work alongside their mother, Gabriella.

Its 70 hectares lie within Friuli Colli Orientali, on soils of layered marl and sandstone, known locally as ponca. The vineyards combine native and international grape varieties. The family uses integrated pest management to limit treatments and fertilizers, while solar power supplies part of the winery’s energy.

Tunella 2023 Pinot Grigio Friuli Colli Orientali

Italian White
$48.99

Cooked apple and citrus meet a clear mineral undertone, with acacia blossom and tropical fruit adding breadth. The palate is crisp and clean yet notably creamy, carrying medium-full weight with poise rather than heaviness. A subtle brioche note rounds the finish. Serve with richer seafood, roast poultry or creamy vegetable dishes.

Tunella 2020 Pinot Nero Friuli Colli Orientali DOC

Italian Red

Intense ruby in the glass, opening with fragrant raspberry, strawberry and wild berries, followed by a light herbal lift. Dry and medium-bodied, the palate is fresh, supple and gently aromatic, with soft texture and a subtle savoury-bitter note adding definition. Bright red fruit carries cleanly through the poised, easy-flowing finish.
