AboutTruchard Vineyards

Tony and Jo Ann Truchard began planting their family vineyard on former orchard and pasture land in Carneros in the 1970s. After fifteen years of supplying grapes to other Napa wineries, they converted an old barn into a cellar and began making estate-grown wines with the 1989 vintage.

The estate spans 400 acres, with around 280 planted to vines across hills and valleys. Soils range from clay and shale to sandstone, volcanic rock and ash, while wind and fog from San Pablo Bay cool the vineyards and extend the growing season.
