AboutFamilia Torres
Familia Torres was founded in Vilafranca del Penedès in 1870 by brothers Jaime and Miguel Torres Vendrell, building on a family winegrowing tradition that reaches further back. The fifth generation remains directly involved in leadership, winemaking and research. The house’s distilling tradition began in 1928, when second-generation Juan Torres Casals started making brandy from Penedès wines and ageing it in oak.
Its base remains Catalonia, but the family’s vineyards and wineries now extend through several Spanish regions as well as Chile and California. A long-running programme recovers ancestral Catalan grape varieties. The family is also expanding regenerative vineyard practices, aiming to improve soil life and help its vineyards adapt to a changing climate.
