Tolaini

Pier Luigi Tolaini returned to Tuscany after a long career in Canada and established his estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga in the late 1990s. His search led to the Montebello and San Giovanni properties in the southern part of Chianti Classico. Lia Tolaini Banville now leads the winery, while Francesco Rosi became head oenologist and production director in 2023.

The estate produces Sangiovese wines alongside separate Toscana IGT bottlings based on other varieties and vineyard sites. The producer describes the vineyards as organically farmed, alongside broader sustainability work. Tolaini’s present work combines Castelnuovo Berardenga vineyards, family leadership and a range spanning Chianti Classico and Toscana IGT.
