AboutThe Mascot
Will Harlan first shared The Mascot as an unnamed wine at the family table. The 2008 vintage was the first to carry the label, with a wider introduction following in 2013. The name honours Prince, the English bull terrier pictured on the label.
Its Cabernet Sauvignon is drawn from younger vines in seven hillside vineyards of Harlan Estate, BOND and Promontory in Napa Valley. The vineyard lots are fermented and aged separately at the three wineries, then blended and aged further before release.
The Mascot 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
American Red
Supple and expansive from the outset, with a broad aromatic profile and deep, polished fruit. The palate moves in smooth layers, balancing gratifying acidity with refined, velvety tannins. Its richness is controlled rather than heavy, allowing the structure to emerge gradually as the wine opens. The finish is long and burnished, with the fruit receding slowly to reveal a composed, savoury foundation beneath.
