AboutThe Balvenie

William Grant built The Balvenie beside Glenfiddich in Speyside, and its first spirit ran from the stills in 1893. The distillery grows a portion of its barley and retains working floor maltings, an on-site cooperage and a dedicated coppersmith.

David Stewart joined the company in 1962 and helped develop The Balvenie’s cask-finishing approach in the 1980s. His experiments drew on bourbon, sherry, wine, Madeira, port and rum casks, exploring the changes different woods and their previous contents could bring to whisky.

The Balvenie 14 Year Old Golden Cask Rum Finish 700 mL

Scottish Whisky
$669.99
Traditional oak maturation followed by a finish in Caribbean rum casks gives this Speyside single malt a rich yet lifted profile. Honeyed vanilla, citrus zest and orchard fruit lead into banana, toffee and raisin, supported by warm oak spice and a creamy, waxy texture. Bottled without chill filtration, it balances malt depth with tropical sweetness. Serve neat or with a small splash of water.
