Terracura
Terracura
Terracura grew from Michael Roets’s involvement in the Swartland wine community and an early experiment with a concrete egg around 2010. The first Silwervis Chenin Blanc appeared in 2011, and the project later expanded into Syrah and other limited wines. Ryan Mostert played a major winemaking role from 2014 to 2021, a historical period distinct from the present team.
Chris Groenewald became winemaker and co-owner in 2022, working with Roets as the project returned to a smaller core range. Swartland fruit and concrete vessels feature across the project, with details varying by vintage and wine. Terracura’s present chapter is a small Swartland project led by Roets and Groenewald, with Chenin Blanc and Syrah at its core.
