AboutTenuta Guado al Tasso

Tenuta Guado al Tasso lies in Bolgheri on Tuscany’s upper Maremma coast, in a natural amphitheatre of hills open toward the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Della Gherardesca family practised viticulture here from the late seventeenth century, and the property passed to Carlotta Della Gherardesca Antinori in the 1930s. Sea breezes moderate the vineyards, whose alluvial soils range from sand and clay to fine gravel.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Vermentino are among the estate’s principal varieties. The flagship red, Guado al Tasso, was first made in 1990.

Marchesi Antinori Guado al Tasso 2019 Bolgheri Superiore

Italian Red
$249.99

Tobacco, liquorice and ripe plum shape a rich, inviting aroma, with balsamic lift and a measured touch of toasted coffee. The palate is pure and concentrated, carrying dark fruit through silky tannins and polished structure. Savoury depth builds without dulling the wine’s freshness or clarity. The finish is persistent and composed, returning to plum, dark herbs, coffee and fine-grained tannin.
