Takara Shuzo makes sake in Fushimi, Kyoto, one of Japan’s historic brewing centres. The company also produces shochu, mirin and ready-to-drink beverages. At its sake breweries, modern equipment is used alongside methods based on traditional hand brewing. Takara introduced its first canned chu-hi in 1984 and the sparkling sake Mio in 2011.
