In the late 1960s, Rino Sottimano finished his winemaking studies and bought a farmhouse with a small vineyard in Cottà. He and his wife Anna gradually acquired other Barbaresco parcels, bottling the wines from each site separately. Their children Andrea, Elena and Claudia now work alongside Rino.
The estate farms 19 hectares across Basarin, Cottà, Pajorè, Fausoni and Currà, with attention to biodiversity. In the cellar, native yeasts, long contact with the grape skins and ageing in large oak casks are part of its approach.

Raspberry and cherry lead, with crushed rose, pine needle, mint and liquorice adding savoury lift. The palate is crisp and structured, carrying bright red fruit through ripe acidity and finely coiled, youthful tannins. Floral and lightly saline through the persistent finish, it suits mushroom risotto, braised beef, roast poultry or aged cheeses.
