AboutSons of Vancouver Distillery
James Lester founded Sons of Vancouver in 2015, designing and building the early distillery himself. The independently owned North Vancouver distillery first made its name with liqueurs, particularly amaretto, before turning its long-term attention to rye whisky.
Partner Jenna Diubaldo manages the whisky programme, overseeing the casks and blending. Fermentation and distillation take place in North Vancouver, with the whisky range exploring rye-rich grain recipes and different oak casks.
Sons of Vancouver No. 82 Amaretto 750 mL
Canadian Liqueur
Bitter almond leads a rich, fragrant aroma, joined by vanilla bean and bright orange oil. The palate is rounded and layered, with demerara sugar and honey providing depth rather than simple sweetness. Citrus keeps the texture lively, while the almond character remains clear through the middle. The finish is smooth, warming and gently bittersweet. Serve over ice, in an Amaretto Sour, or as a measured sweetener in an Old Fashioned.
Sons of Vancouver Wheated Rye Canadian Whisky 750 mL
Canadian Whisky
Vanilla marshmallow and crème brûlée lead the nose, followed by caramel, fresh bread, honey and baking spice. The palate is soft and full, with wheat rounding the rye's peppery warmth while apricot, orchard fruit and toasted sugar add depth. Ex-bourbon and new American oak casks contribute char, vanilla and firm structure without making the whisky severe. The finish is long and gently spicy, carrying toffee, grain and charred oak. Serve neat, over ice or stirred into an Old Fashioned.
