Sharpe Distillery opened in Cawston in British Columbia’s Similkameen Valley in 2023, after years of planning. The Sharpe family has lived in Cawston for three generations and created the distillery as a tribute to Grandpa Jack Sharpe. Its range includes vodka, gin and whisky, with British Columbia-grown wheat among the ingredients it works with.

Honey and fresh grape give the palate a gently sweet opening, followed by earthy notes that recall a cool wine cellar and damp oak. The texture is creamy and substantial, with red pepper and warm spice building toward the finish. Fruit remains present beneath the savoury detail, keeping the spirit balanced and distinctive. Serve neat in a small glass, add a little water, or use in a Pisco Sour where its grape, earth and pepper can remain clear.

Crisp and clean, with a subtle nose of balsamroot, alpine herbs and fresh earth. British Columbia-grown wheat gives the spirit a smooth, rounded core, while Similkameen Valley water helps keep the profile clear and focused. The palate begins with a gentle spicy warmth before moving into citrus, light sweetness and a hint of salted caramel. The finish is silky and quietly sweet. Serve chilled, with soda and lemon, or in a Martini where the earthy and citrus details can remain distinct.
