AboutSchlenkerla

Schlenkerla’s Bamberg tavern occupies a building recorded as the House of the Blue Lion in 1405; the brewery itself is documented from 1678. The Graser family acquired it in 1866, and it is now run by the sixth generation of the Graser and Trum family.

The brewery malts barley in its own malthouse, drying it over beechwood fires for its smoked beer. The beer matures in rock cellars beneath Stephansberg, while the Bamberg tavern still serves beer from wooden casks.

Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier 500 mL

German Beer
$8.49

Smoky aromas lead into a full-bodied amber lager whose palate turns fresher and more herbal through the hops. Unfiltered and naturally cloudy, it carries a gentle yeast-rich texture without losing its easy-drinking balance. Serve well chilled with roast pork, smoked sausages, lentil stew, rye bread or alpine cheese. The savoury smoke and grassy lift make it particularly comfortable at the table.

Aecht Schlenkerla Kräusen 500 mL

German Beer
$7.49

Vibrant and lightly smoky, this amber lager combines the freshness of young beer with the more settled character of a fully matured base. The palate is unfiltered and quietly complex, with gentle malt, restrained smoke and a crisp lift that keeps the finish lively. Serve well chilled with grilled bratwurst, roast chicken, pretzels, sharp mustard or a creamy washed-rind cheese.
