AboutPodere Sapaio

Massimo Piccin came to wine from engineering, founding Podere Sapaio in Bolgheri in 1999. The first wines followed in 2004.

The estate spans 40 hectares, including 27 hectares of vineyard split between Bolgheri and Bibbona. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grow across sand, clay, marine limestone and rounded river stones, with the Tyrrhenian Sea moderating the climate.
