AboutRozès

Ostende Rozès founded his business in Bordeaux in 1855, importing and trading Port from Portugal. His son Edmond introduced the Porto Rozès name in the 1930s, along with a wax-sealed bottle wrapped in paper at the neck.

Today the house works from nine Douro estates, a winery at Quinta de Monsul and historic ageing cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. The founding family left the business in 1977; in 1999 it joined the group now known as Maison Pommery & Associés.

Rozès 2005 Vintage Port

Portuguese Fortified
$229.99
Dark ruby with a mature amber rim, opening on mulberry, liquorice, fudge and cocoa. Marzipan and roasted coffee add aromatic depth. Medium-bodied, sweet and finely balanced on the palate, it feels mature and composed rather than heavy. The chocolate and coffee tones gather through a complex, attractive finish that is long, elegant and quietly generous.
