AboutRobert Mondavi

Robert Mondavi opened his Oakville winery in 1966, the first major new winery in Napa Valley since Prohibition. He wanted to make Napa wines that could stand beside Europe’s best, and made To Kalon Vineyard the heart of the estate. Its sunny Oakville setting and alluvial soils made it a focus for Cabernet Sauvignon.

At Robert Mondavi Winery, the vineyard team farms organically, paying close attention to vine health, airflow and harvest timing. In the cellar, fermentation, skin contact and barrel choices are tailored to each vineyard and block.
