AboutRiedel
Riedel’s glassmaking history stretches back to 1756 and spans eleven generations of the same family. In the late 1950s, Claus Riedel introduced thin, undecorated stemware based on his belief that a glass’s shape changes how wine is perceived. Georg Riedel, of the next generation, developed glasses shaped for individual grape varieties, an approach that remains central to the company’s designs.
Georg and Maximilian Riedel, the tenth and eleventh generations, lead the family-owned business from Austria. The range includes both handmade and machine-made glasses, alongside individually crafted decanters.
Riedel Ouverture Tequila Glasses
Austrian Accessory
Designed specifically for tequila, the tall, narrow bowl helps concentrate aroma while directing the spirit neatly across the palate. Clear crystal keeps the presentation clean and precise, and the machine-made construction is intended for dependable everyday use. The shape was developed to suit reposado, añejo and longer-aged tequila styles, giving their fruit, oak and agave character room to open without requiring an oversized glass. Dishwasher-safe construction makes it practical for a home bar or regular service.
