Quinta Do Crasto
Quinta Do Crasto
The earliest known record of Quinta do Crasto and wine production dates to 1615 in Portugal’s Douro Valley. A Pombaline boundary marker from 1758 remains on the property, linking the estate to the early demarcation of the Douro region. Constantino de Almeida acquired the quinta in 1918, and the property subsequently passed through his family.
Leonor and Jorge Roquette assumed management in 1981 and developed both Douro DOC wines and the estate’s continuing Port production. Their children now represent the next generation at the estate. Quinta do Crasto’s present work joins its recorded Douro history, Roquette family stewardship and production of both still wine and Port.
