Quinta da Falorca’s family has grown vines around Silgueiros in the Dão for five generations. After years selling grapes, including deliveries to the local cooperative from 1964, the family returned to estate bottling in 1999. Its vineyards lie around 500 metres above sea level on granite soils, with old vines and local Dão varieties at the heart of the work.

Deep ruby with violet reflections, the wine offers ripe red fruit, mild spice and a light touch of wood. The palate is full-bodied, with lively but integrated tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish. The blend combines Touriga Nacional, Rufete, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. Half matures for six months in used barrels, followed by nine months in bottle.
