AboutProvenance Vineyards
Provenance Vineyards has worked with Napa Valley fruit since 1999. The Allen Lombardi family bought the winery in November 2021, returning it to family ownership after two corporate owners. Long-standing grower relationships, some extending two decades, bring grapes from Rutherford, Calistoga and other parts of the valley.
Provenance 2021 Dead Eye Chardonnay
Ripe pineapple, white peach, crushed white pepper, honeysuckle and pineapple rind form the aromatic profile. Baked apple and brioche add further detail. The medium-bodied palate includes peaches, Asian pear and cantaloupe, with a sumptuous mouthfeel and a long finish. The fruit comes from Monterey County on California’s Central Coast. This dry white is made from Chardonnay.
Provenance Vineyards 2018 Deadeye Napa Valley Red Blend
Ripe blackcurrant, stewed blackberry, mint chocolate, charred bark and mocha accompany a full-bodied texture with round, sleek tannins. Bitter chocolate and dark berry appear on the finish. The blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. It matures for eighteen months in French, American and Hungarian oak. Fruit is sourced from vineyards across Napa Valley.
Provenance Vineyards 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
White flowers, mango, white peach and pineapple mingle with citrus on the nose. The palate layers pineapple, grapefruit and tangerine over bright acidity, with nutmeg, vanilla and lemon curd adding depth. Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc in Rutherford, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented across concrete, small barrels and stainless steel to retain fruit while building texture.
