Marilisa and Walter Allegrini began acquiring land in Bolgheri in 2001 and founded Poggio al Tesoro in 2002, taking their family’s winemaking experience beyond Valpolicella. Soil studies guided the vineyard planting, matching grape varieties to individual sites. Cabernet Franc is a particular focus at the Via Bolgherese vineyard.

Blackcurrant, plum and dark berries lead, with black pepper, aromatic herbs and balsamic eucalyptus adding definition. The palate is rich and imposing yet fresh, framed by firm, velvety tannins and a clear mineral line. Savoury spice and concentrated fruit build through a long, composed finish that remains precise rather than heavy.
