AboutPierrick Bouley

Pierrick Bouley now leads his family’s sixth-generation wine estate in Volnay, formerly known as Réyane and Pascal Bouley. He joined full-time in 2009 and took responsibility for the estate with the 2014 vintage. About thirteen hectares are spread across roughly sixty parcels in Volnay and neighbouring Côte de Beaune appellations, with vines averaging around fifty years old.

His work toward organic certification includes limiting tractor passes and avoiding herbicides, insecticides and anti-rot treatments. Grapes are picked by hand and fermented without added cultured yeast or enzymes. The wines spend roughly twelve months in French oak barrels, with filtration used only when needed.

Pierrick Bouley 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Santenots

French Red
$184.99
Deeply coloured, with lifted high tones and striking aromatic intensity. The palate is broad and structured, its fine-grained tannins adding shape with almost no dryness. Layered, mobile fruit brings energy and dimension, while a slightly cushioned texture softens the wine's fresh lines. Powerful yet poised, with an excellent, persistent finish.
