AboutPiero Busso

Guido Busso established the family estate in Neive’s Albesani vineyard in 1948, on land already worked by the previous generation. After Guido’s early death, Piero took over in the late 1970s and bottled the family’s first Albesani Barbaresco in 1982. Piero, his wife Lucia and their children Pierguido and Emanuela share the work, from vineyard and harvest to cellar and sales.

Their ten hectares lie between Neive and Treiso, including Albesani, Gallina and San Stunet, and are farmed organically without chemical herbicides. In the cellar, the family favours natural fermentations and large casks for a lighter wood influence.

Piero Busso Gallina 2020 Barbaresco

Italian Red
$209.99

Clear ruby in colour, with cranberry, pomegranate and rosewood forming a vivid, finely drawn bouquet. The palate is juicy and energetic, its red-berry fruit carried by fresh acidity and finely woven tannins. A light saline note adds precision as the wine expands across the tongue. The structure is firm but polished, allowing the fruit to remain clear. It finishes long and savoury, with red berries, mineral detail and measured grip.
