AboutSassetti Livio Pertimali
The Sassetti family has grown vines around Montalcino for more than a century, through four generations. Pertimali, on Montosoli hill north of the town, remains its central property. Livio’s son Lorenzo, a trained winemaker and the fourth generation, runs the estate with his wife Sabina.
The family also has vineyards at Cinigiano in the Tuscan Maremma and in Valdobbiadene; La Querciolina, its Montecucco property, was acquired in 1999. Vineyard care and harvesting are done by hand, and the family favours organic farming.

Ripe red berries and dark cherry meet cocoa, roasted coffee and a measured savoury note. Medium-bodied and polished, the palate carries firm but silky tannins, lively freshness and a focused finish. Made from Sangiovese grown in the Tuscan Maremma, it has enough structure for roast lamb, grilled steak or aged pecorino without losing its approachable, fruit-led character.
