Pearl Morissette

Pearl Morissette opened near Jordan in Ontario’s Niagara region in 2007, founded by Mel Pearl and Quebec-born winemaker François Morissette. Its name joins their surnames. Morissette returned to Canada after working in Burgundy at Domaine Alain Gras, Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, Domaine Henri Gouges and Domaine Roulot.

Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir are central to the winery’s work. The cellar uses egg-shaped concrete vessels, clay qvevri and large old wooden casks from Alsace. Some wines are given extended maturation before release.
