AboutPaulaner

Paulaner’s story begins in Munich’s Neudeck ob der Au monastery, where Minim friars brewed strong beer for their community. Its first documentary record is a complaint filed by Munich brewers in 1634. The name comes from the religious order founded by Francis of Paola. Brother Barnabas became brewmaster in 1773 and developed a recipe associated with Salvator, the brewery’s strong beer.

The Munich brewery draws soft water from deep wells and uses hops from the Hallertau. Its range includes naturally cloudy wheat beers, pale lagers and seasonal strong beer.

Paulaner Hefe-Weißbier Dunkel 500 mL

German Beer
$4.49
Chestnut-brown and naturally cloudy, this dark wheat beer brings chocolate and cocoa together with wheat malt and refined roasted notes. Roasted banana and caramel add a ripe, gently tropical dimension, while a robust malt profile remains smooth and pleasant across the palate. Serve cool with roast pork, sausages, mushroom dishes, aged cheese, dark bread or chocolate desserts.

Paulaner Pils

German Beer
$4.99
Bright yellow with a dense white head, this German pilsner is crisp, clean and distinctly hop-led. Hallertau hops bring the characteristic bitter aroma, while light Pilsner malt keeps the palate precise and uncluttered. The balance is refreshing, with clear bitterness giving shape to the finish. Serve cold with schnitzel, sausages, roast chicken, pretzels, fried fish or mild cheese.
