AboutPainted Rock Estate Winery

Painted Rock Estate Winery is the Skinner family’s single-vineyard property on the Skaha Bench, overlooking Skaha Lake south of Penticton. John and Trish Skinner bought the 56-acre former apricot orchard in 2004 and began planting vines the following year. The estate has 27 planted acres and grows all the grapes for its wines.

The winery stopped using non-organic inputs in 2010 and added a solar installation in 2017.

$71.99

Plum and dark fruit rise with classic black and white pepper. The palate is powerful and generous, layering blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum over a luscious texture. Eighteen months in French and American oak adds breadth and polish, while the peppery character keeps the fruit defined through a persistent finish.

Painted Rock 2022 Cabernet Franc

Canadian Red

Herbs and spice frame dark cherry on the nose. The palate is brambly and concentrated, with the variety’s savoury character carried by firm, gently gripping tannins. Extended hangtime gives the fruit full flavour, while 18 months in French oak adds polish and depth. Structured now, it has clear potential to develop further.
