James and Joanna Schlosser run Niche Wine Co. on their family farm in West Kelowna. James grew up on the property, where his parents planted grapes in the 1990s. He brings a master’s degree in winemaking and grape growing from Brock University and more than a decade of winemaking experience. Joanna, a member of the Squamish Nation with a background in marketing, leads the winery’s creative and community work.
Niche 2022 Extra Mile Cabernet Franc
Canadian Red
Ripe red fruit leads, joined by savoury herbs and a fine peppery, earthy edge. The palate is medium-bodied and mouthwatering, with measured oak adding polish without crowding the fruit. Balanced, versatile and easy to enjoy, it has enough savoury depth for tomato-braised dishes, grilled vegetables, herb-roasted pork, lentils or mushrooms finished with a bright vinaigrette.

Canadian Red
Cherry, raspberry and strawberry lead a vivid red-fruited profile. The palate is rich without feeling heavy, bringing the character of two distinct Okanagan sites together through layered structure and depth. Free-run juice and wild fermentation preserve freshness, while the small-batch texture remains composed through a quietly complex finish.
