AboutNanbu Bijin

Nanbu Bijin began in Ninohe, Iwate, in 1902, when Sueta Kuji adapted knowledge from his family’s soy-sauce brewing business to sake. The sake took the Nanbu Bijin name in 1951, drawing on the region’s old name, Nanbu.

Fifth-generation president Kosuke Kuji and head brewer Junji Matsumori carry forward techniques learned from the late master brewer Hajime Yamaguchi. The brewery began developing overseas markets in 1997 and later expanded into sake-based fruit liqueurs.

Japanese Sake
$15.99

Fresh and clear in style, with clean rice tones, gentle fruit and a rounded, satisfying texture. This raw-stored honjozo is heat-treated only before shipping, preserving a lively profile while remaining polished and stable. A measured savoury edge and crisp finish make it especially versatile at the table; serve well chilled with sashimi, grilled fish, tempura or lightly seasoned poultry.
