AboutNaboso
Naboso is the two-person winery of Nadja and Andrej in Svätý Jur, just outside Bratislava. Nadja came to wine through Austria and a Copenhagen wine bar; Andrej brought more than a decade of winemaking experience to their project. They do the work themselves, from the vineyards to bottling and labels.
Their vineyards lie on granite bedrock and sandy soils, generally facing south or southeast. The cellar is beneath a house documented as far back as the seventeenth century. The wines ferment in open vats and age in used oak or acacia, with gravity used to move them and sulphur added only when the pair considers it necessary.
Naboso 2023 Opera Brut
Flowers, spice, pear, apricot, quince, lemon and mineral notes accompany delicate bubbles and a creamy texture. The sparkling palate is fresh and lively. Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris and Moravian Muscat form the white sparkling blend. Refermentation takes place in bottle, and the wine records eleven percent alcohol. Total sulphites are reported below ten milligrams per litre.
