Muhak traces its roots to 1929, when Sohwa Liquor Industries began making soju and cheongju in Masan on Korea’s southern coast. Choi Wi-seung acquired the business in 1965, renamed it Muhak Brewery and introduced automated equipment the following year. In 1973, thirty-six Gyeongnam breweries were brought together under Muhak.
Good Day launched in 2006 at 16.9% alcohol, below the roughly 20% strength common in Korean soju at the time. Fruit-flavoured versions followed in 2015.
